Welcome to Norfolk’s Must Visit

Welcome to Norfolk’s Must Visit

An enjoyable day out means different things to different people, so it’s not always easy to find one place that appeals to every member of the family.

Here at Wroxham Barns, we work hard to provide just that, priding ourselves on being the ‘must visit’ for ALL the family. There are craft studios and superb shopping facilities for the grown-ups, while the youngsters will love our Junior Farm and Children’s Funfair. We are constantly updating and extending the activities on offer so there is always something fresh to see and do.

We are open all week and all year, so we hope you will pay more than one visit and bring the whole family, whatever their age or interests.

We are so lucky to be part of the Broads, Britain’s Magical Waterland, a uniquely beautiful environment shaped by people working hand in hand with nature over thousands of years. The Broads offers visitors an experience unlike any other, both on its rivers and lakes – the “broads” – and alongside them, on peaceful paths and cycleways and in the unspoiled villages and market towns that make up the tapestry of this fantastic area.

Wroxham Barns is one of a rich mix of attractions and activities year-round for visitors of any age and any interest. The Broads is proud to be a member of Britain’s family of National Parks, and is recognised globally for its wildlife and the distinct and precious character of its environment.

Best of all, the Broads is so easy to get to for a holiday, short break or day visit, and it’s all within easy reach of the historic city of Norwich and the exhilarating coastline of Norfolk and Suffolk. A magical place where land and water, people and nature meet – there’s nowhere quite as special as the Broads. To find out more, visit www.enjoythebroads.com.

We hope that you will enjoy your visit to Wroxham Barns and come back and see us many times.

Our staff are committed to ensuring that your visit will meet and hopefully exceed your expectations. Occasionally, in spite of our best efforts, things will go wrong. Please do let us know if you feel we have let you down, we want to be able to put matters right for you if we can, and learn from any mistakes.

Wroxham Barns has been the ownership of the Russell Family ever since it was purchased as a derelict farm back in 1982

The idea for Wroxham Barns was born in 1982 with the vision to transform rundown agricultural buildings into a centre for showcasing crafts.

Restoration and conversion of the barns began in January 1983, helped by a £20,000 grant from the English Tourist Board, and we officially opened on May 24,1983.

The children’s funfair was added in 1988 and Junior Farm opened in 1992.

Amongst the crafts showcased through the years are spinning, batik, bookbinding, basketmaking, furniture-making, lacemaking, needlecraft, woodturning, minerals and jewellery, glassblowing, painting and printing.
